Been a while so updates have been done here and there. Since last post, we have had good run at the shows. Almost too good to believe.
We have been at Nurmes, Rautajärvi, Salo and Kotka. At Nurmes, replacement dog Notte (had to make replacement as it came obvious that Pallo, who was entered originally, would not be participating) cleared the table. BOB, her first ever CAC and finally BIG2 under Guy Jeavons.
A breeders group was presented ending BOB-group.
Then Rautajärvi, where all entered got CQs and placed at least in their classes and Topi finally being 2nd best dog with r-CAC. Managed to show a breeders group also here, BOB and BIS3.
At Salo we had really nice day, which was nice as driving was long. Only Topi and Frankie were entered, but that was enough. Frankie BOB, CAC and BIG2 and Topi BOS and CAC.
Since we seem to be keen on driving around this country, next show was at Kotka. Again hours away and this time hottest day this summer. I did have hopes, but they were exceeded. Finn, first time out in veteran class and in two years BOB, BOB-veteran, CAC (his second) and veteran-CACIB. Topi followed his dad being 2nd best male getting CACIB. Frankie was BOS with CAC, third which made her Fi Ch, and CACIB. And icing on the cake was Mimmi, H. Penny Wise Pound Foolish, placing 4th best bitch and getting r-CAC. Breeders group was BOB.
We did stay for the groups with Finn even though we knew it was pointless as it turned out to be.
Meanwhile Ziva, H. Fake it till You Make It, has been good girl. Within two months she gathered three CAC’s from Norway thus gaining No Ch. And since she had CAC from Denmark was Dk Ch also in her pocket. Alongside champion titles, Ziva got two more CACIB’s to accompany the one from earlier years. So now the hunt for final one is on. Fingers crossed.
Maybe, just maybe, my dogs are not that bad after all.
On sadder tone. Pallo, H. Makes Me Wonder, was put to rest on 24th of June. She had started to drag her back legs end of last year and situation degenerated. Veterinarians diagnosed DM, degenerative myelopathy, which can not be confirmed with out autopsy. I did run DNA-test on her for DM and results were that she was affected. If it was DM or something else will not be known and on the other hand, undisputed diagnose would not change the outcome.
